  • 1979 – August, awarded first place ribbon, adult watercolor, Montana State Fair.
  • 1984 – Attended Otis/Parsons School of Design, Los Angeles, California.
  • 1986 – Mentored by renowned American oil painter, Clyde Aspevig.
  • 1988 – Included in the article "Creative Process" by Jack Rilles in the July issue of "Southwest Art."
  • 1988 – December, Scott's first nationally recognized exhibition and sale at Turner Art Gallery in Denver, Colorado; this one-man show became an event held annually through December, 2000. 
  • 1989 – June, two-man exhibition, Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
  • 1990 – Featured article on the arts by J. Promack in "Focus / Santa Fe", June - July issue.
  • 1990 – June, one-man show at Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
  • 1991 – June, group show, "Up and Coming Artists" at Trailside Gallery, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
  • 1991 – June, one-man show at Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
  • 1991 – December, fourth annual exhibition and sale, "Colorist Extraordinaire" at Turner Gallery, Denver, Colorado.
  • 1992 – June, two-man show at Trailside Gallery, Scottsdale, Arizona.
  • 1992 – July, one-man show, Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
  • 1993 – April, hosted by Chinese government in cultural exchange fellowship to study with accomplished professors and students at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts.
  • 1993 – May, traveled to Saint Petersburg, Russia, to paint and study at the Hermitage and Russian Art Museum.
  • 1993 – December, two-man show, Trailside Gallery, Scottsdale, Arizona.
  • 1993 – December, Scott's sixth annual show at Turner Gallery highlighting paintings done from journeys to Mexico, China, and Russia.
  • 1995 – Commissioned by Swani Hunt, United States ambassador to Austria, to do a paining for the United States embassy in Austria.
  • 1996 – May, two-man exhibition, "Family, Relationships, Today," Graffix Studio Gallery, Billings, Montana.
  • 1996 – May, featured artist and workshop instructor at "Maters of Montana," a gathering of more than 30 of America's foremost painters and sculptors, hosted by Chaparral Fine Art, Bozeman, Montana.
  • 1996 – May, Artist's Choice Award, "Masters of Montana" show, "A Tribute to Degas."
  • 1997 – May, one of six guest artists chosen to study and paint in Italy as a part of the "Plein Air Exchange" sponsored by Chaparral Fine Art, Bozeman, Montana.
  • 1997 – August, six-man group show, "Plein Air Exchange - Italian Exhibit."
  • 1999 – August, traveled to Kamchatka Peninsula of Far East Russia to meet and paint with professional Russian artists."
  • 1999 – December, one-man exhibition featuring works from Alaska and Far East Russia.
  • 2000 – January, moved studio and home to Russian community of Nikolaevsk, Alaska, near Homer.
  • 2000 – October, one-man show at Artique Gallery, Anchorage, Alaska.
